We are proud of our team, who has gone above and beyond since we reopened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So much has changed this year, but what hasn't changed is our commitment to your safety and to provide quality dentistry with outstanding customer service.
As an essential medical service, we open for all dental services. We have written this article to give our patients some insights into what measures we have taken in order to reopen our offices in safest possible way during this global pandemic.
California Dental Association’s latest consumer research study shows most patients feel comfortable returning to the dentist. For those seeking more information, we hope this article helps shed some light on our response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Safety Responses to COVID-19:
California Dental Association guidelines
We are following all guidelines set by the California Dental Association to ensure the safety of our team and our guests.
- Access to appropriate and plentiful PPE to protect against potentially infectious aerosol transmission.
- Viable options for eliminating, reducing or containing aerosol production during care.
- Access to training on COVID-19-specific protocols and procedures.
Addition of Air Filtration
Although not mandated by the CDA, we have added air filtration systems to both of our dental offices. According to US National Library of Medicine, the virus that causes COVID-19 is approximately 0.125 micron (125 nanometers) in diameter. This size falls within the particle-size range that our air filters capture with extraordinary efficiency: 0.01 micron (10 nanometers) and above.
Once particles are captured, the air filtration system does not allow the particles to recirculate throughout the office.
Proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Guidelines
Within our offices you will notice that our front of office staff all wear face masks. Further, our doctors and assistants wear face masks and face shields. We are doing everything we can to mitigate the spread of our germs and the spread of germs that we come in contact with.
Our sterile technicians are dedicated to ensuring that every single instrument in our office is properly sterilized. We go above and beyond in infection control; we always have at our dental offices.
